convertimate Weight on other planets

Weight on other planets calculator

Type what a scale shows on Earth, in kilograms or pounds, and see what the same scale would show on every planet.

26.48kg on Mars

That's about the same as an adult. There, a jump that clears 50 cm on Earth would clear about 1.322 m.

What it means

How heavy would that feel?

Uses each body’s mean surface gravity. The gas giants have no surface, so their figure is for the cloud tops; works the same in pounds.

Background

Why weight changes from world to world

A scale does not measure how much of you there is; it measures how hard gravity pulls you down. That pull depends on the world you stand on. The Moon’s gravity is about a sixth of Earth’s, so a 70 kg reading becomes 11.6 kg; Mars pulls with 38 %, Jupiter with 2.5 times Earth’s.

Your mass, the amount of matter, is the same everywhere. Only the weight, the force, changes.
