EV efficiency converter
Convert between kWh/100 km, miles per kWh and Wh per km, the three ways electric cars report the same thing, and see the range it gives.
That's about the same as a family EV. A 60 kWh battery would cover about 333.3 km.
What it means
How far on a charge?
Range assumes a usable 60 kWh battery. Cold weather and motorway speeds can cost 30%.

Three things worth knowing
-
Wh/km is kWh/100 km × 10
A car using 18 kWh/100 km uses 180 Wh per km. That is the easiest of the three conversions and worth remembering.
-
MPGe, the awkward cousin
US window stickers quote MPGe by claiming a gallon of petrol equals 33.7 kWh. It makes electric and petrol cars comparable, and means nothing physically.
-
Battery size is not range
A big battery in an inefficient car goes no further than a small battery in an efficient one. Range is battery divided by consumption, and only the second half is engineering.

Background
About EV efficiency units
Europe measures electric cars in kWh per 100 km (smaller is better), the US in miles per kWh (bigger is better), and engineers in Wh per km.
They describe the same thing from opposite directions, which is why converting means dividing.
